This is a strong decision: Zelensky thanked Cyprus for not allowing Russian ships into ports

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Cyprus for the decision not to allow Russian ships to enter ports.

He stated this while addressing the country’s Parliament during a video conference.

– People of Cyprus! I am grateful to you for the principle with which you, together with the whole of the European Union, responded to Russia’s full-scale invasion. You have made a strong decision not to allow Russian warships into your ports. This really strengthens security in our entire region, – said Zelensky.

The Head of State also thanked Cypriots for providing financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, for the resolution adopted by the Cypriot Parliament in support of Ukraine.

Also on April 7, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Greek Parliament. The Head of State told members of the Greek Parliament about the situation in Mariupol, which is being destroyed by Russian troops.

The President called on Greece to use its influence and opportunities as a member of the European Union to save Mariupol, as well as to force Russia into peace.
