The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania has designated Russia as a terrorist state
Today, May 10, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania designated the Russian Federation as a terrorist state.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk.
Olena Kondratiuk addressed the parliamentarians at the beginning of the sitting of the Seimas. She thanked the Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament for the invitation and support of the Ukrainian people.
Kondratyuk emphasized that Ukrainians are currently recovering not only their freedom but the freedom of the whole of Europe.
After Olena Kondratiuk’s speech, members of the Lithuanian Parliament also spoke, condemning the actions of Russia and the Russian leadership toward the people of Ukraine.
Then the Seimas passed a resolution designating the large-scale war in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
– It is also stated that by resorting to shellings and violence against the civilian population of Ukraine, Russia is resorting to terrorism, – said Olena Kondratiuk.
The Lithuanian Parliament has also decided that Lithuania will take part in bringing Russian war criminals to inevitable responsibility in front of the International Tribunal.
Olena Kondratiuk called such a decision of the Lithuanian Seimas extremely important, bold and worthy demonstration of justice for the entire Ukrainian nation. And this is a signal to resolute actions in every European country so that the atrocities of the Russian army will never and nowhere happen again.
On April 21, the Estonian parliament designated Russia’s military actions in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian nation. The same decision was made by the Seimas of Latvia.
On April 28, the House of Representatives of Canada approved a resolution which designates the mass killings and torture of peaceful Ukrainians by the Russian occupiers as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
