US President Joe Biden said that the Russian Federation should not be recognized as a sponsor of terrorism.
This was stated by the American leader during a press conference in the White House.
Asked by one of the journalists whether Russia should be recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism, Biden answered: “No.”
We will remind that on March 1, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the world leaders and asked to recognize Russia as a terrorist state after the Russian Federation launched a missile attack on the central square of Kharkiv.
On May 3, the Verkhovna Rada asked the US Congress to recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism.
On July 27, the US Senate unanimously approved a non-binding resolution calling for Russia to be designated a state sponsor of terrorism for its actions in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine, which have resulted in the “deaths of countless innocent men, women and children.”
At the same time, the Kremlin said on August 13 that the recognition could sever US-Russian ties.
