Wagner’s Russian private military company is suffering huge losses in Ukraine. This is evidenced by satellite images from the cemetery where mercenaries are buried, published by The New York Times.
In particular, the photo taken on January 24 shows about 170 burials in the cemetery area. This number has increased almost seven times compared to the photo taken on November 24, 2022.
– The US government claims that Wagner’s PMC casualties on the battlefield are estimated in the thousands, and that 90% of them are prisoners who were recruited to fight in exchange for release from prison, provided they survive, – writes the publication.
It is the great losses that force the Russian Federation to recruit imprisoned citizens of Ukraine who were taken to Russian prisons.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the Russian Krasnodar, Russian prisoners are being actively recruited to join Wagner’s private military company.
