In March, Poland will start building an electronic barrier on the border with the Russian Federation
In Poland, it was reported that the construction of an electronic barrier on the border with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation should begin in March.
According to the spokeswoman of the Polish Border Service, Lieutenant Anna Michalska, the barrier will include a system of sensors and cameras. Thanks to this, it will be possible to monitor the border around the clock, regardless of weather conditions and without the need to stay at the border line.
– Officers will be able to observe the border at the headquarters of the border agency. Warnings will be sent from detection systems, and the algorithms of these messages will be developed so that the border guard can respond only to real attempts by people to cross the border, and not to the movement of animals, – Michalska said.
She added that border guards are currently waiting for the fence project. According to the plan, the installation of the electronic fence should begin in March, and it should be ready by the end of the third quarter of 2023.
