Due to the large loss of heavy armored vehicles, the occupiers are transferring obsolete tanks to Ukraine, which have many vulnerabilities on the modern battlefield.

This is reported by the British Ministry of Defense intelligence.

– The Russian military continues to use the 60-year-old T-62 main battle tanks.

There is a real possibility that even units of the 1st Guards Tank Army, which is believed to be Russia’s main tank unit, will be re-armed with T-62s to make up for past losses, – the report said.

In recent days, Russian BTR-50 armored personnel carriers, which first entered service in 1954, were discovered in Ukraine.

– From the summer of 2022, about 800 T-62s have been removed from storage, and some of them have received modernized sighting systems, which will most likely increase their effectiveness at night, – the British Ministry of Defense said.

As noted in the report, both of these ancient types of vehicles will have many vulnerabilities on the modern battlefield, including the lack of modern blast-reactive armor.

It will be recalled that earlier in British intelligence it was reported that due to the lack of ammunition, the Russian Federation is sending its soldiers to storm Ukrainian positions with shovels.

In the meantime, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are strengthening their positions in the Bakhmut direction with elite troops and pushing Vanger’s PMC to the northern outskirts of the city.
