F-16 fighter jets will help Ukraine defeat Russian blackmail in grain exports by sea – Foreign Affairs Ministry
When the Ukrainian Air Force receives Western multifunctional F-16 fighter jets, Ukraine will not be dependent on Russian blackmail to export Ukrainian grain to the world market.
This is what Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in an interview with foreign journalists.
– “The sooner we get them, the sooner we can launch the new corridor. It will be secure and operate without any obstacles. Tonnes of Ukrainian grain are planned to be delivered to world markets, which will lead to price stabilisation and help people avoid hunger,” the Foreign Minister said.
Kuleba believes that the most important consequence will be the fact that Russia will no longer be able to blackmail the world with hunger.
At the same time, the Foreign Minister believes that the European Union’s demands to extend restrictions on imports of Ukrainian grain after 15 September are unacceptable.
– One of the reasons why Russia is destroying grain infrastructure is that it wants to provoke additional tension between Ukraine and its neighbours. We do not need to play into Putin’s hands. We are working closely with our partners to avoid a situation where Putin rubs his hands together and laughs,” Kuleba said.
