The EU will not recognise the results of pseudo-elections in the TOT of Ukraine

The European Union strongly condemns the holding of pseudo-elections by the Russian Federation in the occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular in Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
This is stated in a statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union, published on the official website of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
The statement rejects Russia’s futile attempt to normalise illegal military control and attempted annexation of part of the territories.
– The European Union will not recognise the so-called elections and their results. Russia’s political leadership and those involved in their organisation will be held accountable for their illegal actions,” the statement said.
They added that the pseudo-elections took place in the context of the forced issuance of Russian passports even to children, forced displacement and deportation, massive and systematic human rights violations.
The EU condemned the pressure on the independent election observation group Golos, including the detention of its co-chair, Hryhoriy Melkonyants, and called on Russia to ensure that the OSCE continues to monitor the elections.
