For a just and lasting peace. Stoltenberg called for increased aid to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insists on the need to increase military aid to Ukraine.
He said this to journalists in New York, Sky News reports.
According to him, the “war of attrition” is ongoing, but it has not come to a dead end.
The NATO Secretary General noted that Kyiv urgently needs further supplies of air defense equipment, in particular ammunition, spare parts and maintenance for systems that are already at the disposal of the Ukrainian military.
– We see that air defense saves lives in Ukraine every day – he added.
Stoltenberg called the recent successes of the Ukrainian army in the counteroffensive as proof that a stalemate has not been reached, and called on the West to continue providing military, humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine.
– If we want an end to the war, if we want a just and lasting peace, then military support for Ukraine is the right way, – he said.
The Secretary General emphasized readiness for a “long journey” and that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “will not wait” for the West to stop supporting Ukraine.
Earlier, the Seimas of Lithuania adopted a resolution calling on NATO countries to accept Ukraine into the bloc at the summit in Washington in July 2024.
