The White House urgently appealed to the US Congress for assistance to Ukraine

On December 4, the administration of US President Joe Biden sent an urgent warning to Congress about the need to approve tens of billions of dollars in military and economic aid to Ukraine, AP reports.
In the letter, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda Young, warned that without this help, Ukraine’s military efforts to defend against the Russian invasion could come to a halt.
According to her, by the end of the year, the US will run out of funds to provide weapons and aid, adding that the money it used to support Ukraine’s economy has already run out, and “if it collapses, they won’t be able to continue fighting, period.”
“We’re out of money – and almost out of time,” Young noted.
Congress has already allocated $111 billion for aid to Ukraine, including $67 billion for military procurement, $27 billion for economic and civilian aid, and $10 billion for humanitarian aid. However, Young writes, all but about 3% of the military funding was exhausted by mid-November.
– This is not a problem next year. Now is the time to help democratic Ukraine fight against Russian aggression. It’s time for Congress to act, – she noted.
Back in October, US President Joe Biden submitted a request to Congress for $106 billion . He provided for the allocation of $61.3 billion for Ukraine during the year and about $14 billion for Israel.
However, on November 2, the House of Representatives passed a $14.3 billion aid bill for Israel. It has no funds for Ukraine.
