Russian invaders launched a missile strike on the Ukrainian soldiers in Mykolaiv. It happened the day before, on March 18.

This information was confirmed by the chairman of the Mykolaiv regional military administration (OVA), Vitaliy Kim. According to him, the rescue operation is still ongoing.

“Yesterday “orcs” vilely struck a rocket on our sleeping soldiers. A rescue operation is still underway,” he said.

Kim added that he did not want to give details, as he was waiting for official data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding possible victims.

According to Vitaliy Kim, the Ukrainian military also continues to clear villages of enemies.

“On military unit – we clear villages, we push away “orcs.” I do not want to comment on this either because the tactic of human loss is not our tactic – we are moving carefully. These “orcs” are just a disaster. Yesterday they fired on the villages, frightened. We are slowly interrupting them, they are vilely firing rockets at sleeping soldiers,” he added.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevich, confirmed that the enemy attacked the city on the morning of March 18. According to him, the blow was delivered to the barracks.

Thus, during a video address on Facebook, Senkevich commented on whether it was true that the enemy attacked the location of 79 separate airborne assault brigades.

“People were rescued there. They attacked the barracks there. Fortunately, some of our facilities were empty, and there was no one there. Some were affected. I will not give you more information because it is military, and I cannot share it with you,” Senkevich declared.

According to him, they did not have time to warn about the missile attack of the Russian Federation (there was no air alarm), because it took place from the Kherson region, whose settlements were temporarily occupied by the enemy from a very close distance.

“There was no alarm because we had been attacked from the Kherson region. And we did not have time to give this alarm. The bombing happens faster than we target and launch systems,” the mayor explained.

He clarified that if enemy troops attack from the temporarily occupied Crimea or more distant borders, then the alarm goes off.

The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, which was set up under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, also reported a hostile attack on Mykolayiv. They stressed that there are no official data on the dead and injured in the attack yet.

“Mykolayiv was bombarded by occupiers on the morning of March 18. According to journalists, there are dozens of dead. Some Western journalists report that at least 40 Ukrainians were killed in the barbarian attack in Mykolayiv. According to preliminary information, these are the military. There is still no official information on the number of dead and injured,” the Center for Strategic Communications said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have not yet published official information about the situation in Mykolayiv.
