On April 1, Rafael Mariano Grossi, UN Head of Atomic Energy Monitoring and director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said he would lead a mission to the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine freed from Russian aggressors.

I will head an IAEA mission to provide assistance and support to the Chornobyl nuclear power plant as soon as possible. It will be the first in a series of such nuclear safety and security missions to Ukraine, -Grossi said in a post on his Twitter page.

This statement was made by Rafael Mariano Grossi on the eve of a press conference scheduled for Friday in Vienna.

On February 24, the Russian aggressors began full-scale attack on the territory of Ukraine.
