Information about the occupiers’ control over the center of Mariupol is fake

For the second day in a row, the Russian occupiers are spreading fakes that they have allegedly taken control of the center of Mariupol.

However, the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushchenko assured that the information does not correspond to reality. According to him, the invaders have advanced in control for one quarter and relatively controls the area around the destroyed Drama Theater.

The buildings of the evacuated Regional Prosecutor’s office and the Security Service of Ukraine are located exactly in this square.

– Calling it control of the “city center” is a Russian exaggeration. It is far from the center, and it can be called the “outskirts of the city”, – he explained.

Petro Andriushchenko added that the Prymorskyi district, part of Livoberezhnyi in the Azovstal district, the coast from Azovstal to the port, the port itself, and the actual territory of the plants remain under Ukrainian control. Even by the area, it is most of the city.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the Russian occupiers continue to prepare for an offensive in the east of the country. Their primary efforts are focused on capturing Mariupol and conducting an offensive near the city of Izium.
