The enemy is trying to reach Zaporizhzhya via Melitopol – British Ministry of Defence

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are counterattacking in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, engaging in combat with hostile Russian forces.
This follows from the current map of hostilities on April 9, published by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom.
In the north, from the territories of Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions, Russian troops have already been completely withdrawn from Ukraine to Belarus and Russia.
Currently, the fighting is taking place in Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Donetsk and southern Zaporizhia regions.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are carrying out a counterattack from the Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhya regions, which is aimed at the Kherson region.
In Kharkiv Region, the enemy bypassed the regional center and bypassed the city of Izyum, advancing in the direction of Kramatorsk.
From the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea and the southern direction, the enemy advances to Mariupol via Berdyansk, and through the territory of Melitopol the enemy advances in the direction of Zaporizhzhya.
At the same time, Mariupol continues to be surrounded, there are heavy fighting, the defenders of Ukraine have not surrendered the city.
Part of the territories of Zaporizhia, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions are designated as “disputed territory,” where battles are being fought by Ukrainian defense forces with hostile forces of the occupier.
