Since the beginning of the war, at least 2 500 peaceful Ukrainians have died – the National Police

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the National Police has been investigating more than 2,500 deaths involving Ukrainian civilians, nearly 900 involving missing Ukrainians and more than 500 cases of kidnappings by Russian aggressors.
This was announced at a briefing by First Deputy Chief of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Panteleev.
– To date, the National Police has registered almost 900 criminal proceedings on the facts of missing of our citizens in the territories that were and still are, unfortunately, under occupation, – he said.
The facts of illegal imprisonment of more than 500 civilians by Russians have also been documented.
Panteleev said police were currently investigating the deaths of more than 2 500 Ukrainians.
According to him, a special group will be set up on the basis of the central office of the National Police to document crimes committed during the armed conflict in Ukraine.
