Easter in Kharkiv: shelling, sirens during morning services and consecration of Easter cakes in basements
Russian shelling in Kharkiv did not subside on Easter night. The townspeople saw their houses, garages and cars burning just to the sounds of the nightly broadcast of the church service.
So, according to ICTV Facts, sirens sounded during the morning Easter services around 10.30 am.
On Easter night, the occupiers again fired on various parts of Kharkiv. In particular, Saltivka and Oleksiyivka have traditionally come under fire. City officials and police urged residents to stay at home all day due to provocations prepared by Russia. All night services in the temples were canceled.
From the morning the townspeople went to celebrate Easter, but there were not many people. Some priests went to the basements where people hid to consecrate their Easter baskets there.
In particular, several terrorists and policemen came to the morning church service.
– This is really an incitement to such sadistic malice, which must be opposed only by one thing: that which is celebrated on the Resurrection of Christ – Christ rose from the dead and overcame death with death. The vocation of our soldiers is also to overcome death by death, – commented on the war between Ukraine and Russia, the rector of the Church of St. John the Theologian of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Victor Marynchak.
The National Police continues to work in an intensified mode near churches and cemeteries.
Ukrainian intelligence, meanwhile, reports that Russia is stepping up its borders at the Belgorod region, which borders the Kharkiv region. The deployment of the Iskander installation 60 km from Ukraine was recorded there. In Kharkiv, there are already traces of Iskander’s work in the city – funnels about 6 m deep.
