The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the actions of Russian invaders, who are taking the harvest from farmers and exporting it to Russia, a continuation of the criminal policy of the Soviet government.

This is stated in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In the ministry, they emphasized that the decision of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoiarsk territory of Russia is a direct continuation of the criminal policy of the Soviet government, which was responsible for the artificial hunger in Ukraine in 1921-1923, the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and another artificial hunger of 1946-1947.

– The stealing of grain, which the invaders call “expropriation”, Russia continues the case of Stalinists and Nazis, – they said in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Russian occupiers are forcibly taking away crops from farmers in the Kherson region, blocking shipments from Ukrainian ports, and mining sea lanes. All this threatens the food security of the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Ukraine provides food to almost 400 million people worldwide, and our grain is exported to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

According to UN estimates, about 1.7 billion people may be on the brink of poverty and hunger because of the disruption of the food system as a result of Russia’s full-scale war against our state.

– Russia is intentionally continuing to block sowing in Ukraine by destroying agricultural machinery, and launching missile strikes throughout the territory of our country, – says in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, the Ombudsman for Human Rights in Ukraine, Liudmyla Denisova, reported about the theft of crops from Ukrainian farmers. She called on the UN Commission of investigating human rights violations committed during Russia’s military attack on Ukraine to count these facts of the war crimes of the Russian invaders.
