Recognition of the inability to capture cities – intelligence about the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Kharkiv region

The withdrawal of Russian troops from the Kharkiv region is a tacit admission of the inability of the Russian Federation to capture key Ukrainian cities.
This is the conclusion of the UK Department of Defense intelligence on May 12.
– Russia made its units in the Kharkiv region vulnerable to mobile and highly motivated Ukrainian counter-offensive forces when it identified the Donbass as a priority, – the UK intelligence agency notes.
And that’s why, they add in British intelligence, that the Russian Federation expected limited resistance from the population in the Kharkiv region.
– Despite the successful encirclement of Kharkiv in the initial stages of the invasion, after significant losses, Russia withdrew part of the troops from the region to reorganize and replenish forces, – the British Ministry of Defense notes.
At present, the department states, Ukrainian troops continue their counterattack north of Kharkiv, recapturing several cities and villages in the direction of the Russian border.
Intelligence suggests that after the restoration, Russia may deploy its forces on the eastern bank of the Siverskiy Donets River.
These units will take on a blocking function to protect the western flank, where the main forces and supply routes of the Russian Federation are concentrated for operations in the Izyum region of the Kharkiv region.
