Assault on Azovstal: about 600 wounded on the territory of the plant, 40 of them – in serious condition

Azovstal in Mariupol continues to suffer from constant shelling by the Russian occupiers, with about 600 wounded already at the plant, almost 40 of them in critical condition.

This was announced on the evening of May 15 on the air of the telethon by the commander of the 12th brigade of operational assignments of the National Guard of Ukraine Denys Shlega.

– The situation with our wounded guys is very difficult. There is a great lack of medicines and medical instruments. Who is at the forefront now – we are fighting, holding on, but the situation with the wounded is difficult … About 600 wounded, and about 40 more people – this is a very serious condition, – he said.

Denys Shlega also added that Ukrainian defenders gave all their individual first aid kits to the combat hospital.

In addition, the military explained how the Russian invaders are trying to “gain a foothold” on the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol and confirmed the use of banned bombs by the occupiers.

– We suffer from all types of ammunition, including thermal bombs … They (racists – Ed.) Work in the morning with artillery, tanks, aircraft, and then try to enter. Sometimes, they come in, get fixed in some buildings, but our defenders then knock them out or don’t let them in at all.

Yes, in some parts of the plant there is an enemy, but it is, so to speak, insignificant, and we are holding on. But you understand that we are holding on with all our might, – said Denys Shlega.
