Enemy attack on the Lviv region: air defense forces destroyed three cruise missiles

Air defense units of the West Air Command destroyed three cruise missiles in the Lviv region.

According to available information, the region was attacked from the southeast direction.

To do this, the enemy used sea-based cruise missiles.

The Russian military attacked the infrastructure facility of the regional branch of the Lviv Railway in the Yavorivskyi district at midnight on May 17.

The explosion damaged the railway infrastructure in a 20-kilometer zone to the border with the European Union. Glass shattered in nearby houses.

According to the head of the regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, there were no reports of injuries or deaths.

– Not a single missile hit Lviv – the air defense forces worked well. Therefore, we do not know if the regional center was the target this time, – the mayor of the city Andriy Sadovyi says.

The mayor notes: in terms of the number of missiles, the attack on the night of May 17 became one of the largest in the Lviv region.

– What will happen next is hard to predict. So go for cover! Do not film missile arrivals or air defense operations. Moscow agents need such videos. Please, don’t be like Russians. Take care of yourself and help the front! – Andriy Sadovyi added.

Recall that on the night of May 17 in the Lviv region there were two air raid alerts. Residents of the region survived two massive waves of missile launches.

Let us add that missile attacks on the Lviv region resumed on May 15 after a certain break. On Sunday, around 04:30, the Russian army fired four missiles at the Lviv region.

Two of them were shot down by the air defense forces, the rest completely destroyed a military facility in the Yavorivskyi district, which is only 15 km from the border with Poland, the EU and NATO.

Military expert Oleh Zhdanov suggests that Russian missile attacks on the western regions of Ukraine are necessary in order to make up for the lack of active hostilities on land.A full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for 83 days.
