Russia failed the offensive in five directions at once in the East – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
During the 84th day of the full-scale war, Russian troops tried in vain to carry out an offensive in the East in five directions at once.
The Russians failed in the Sloviansk direction when, in an attempt to improve their tactical position, they fought with artillery support in the area of Velyka Komyshuvakha.
The enemy suffered heavy losses in some areas and was forced to withdraw to previously occupied positions.
The occupiers’ offensive also failed in the Severodonetsk direction. There, the Russian army was unsuccessfully carrying out assault actions in the Ustynivka area.
The Russians launched an offensive to improve the tactical position in the Bakhmut direction. But their assault in the area of Zolote-4 was unsuccessful.
The invaders suffered losses and withdrew during the offensive in the Yuriivka area in the Avdiivka direction.
The occupiers did not achieve their goal during the assault in the area of Novokalynove and Pervomaiskyi.
The enemy also carried out the offensive unsuccessfully in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Kurakhove direction.
In the Donetsk and Luhansk directions alone, on May 18, the Ukrainian military men repulsed 16 enemy attacks and destroyed:
- eight tanks,
- 17 units of armoured personnel vehicles,
- four special armoured vehicles,
- six ordinary vehicles.
We will recall that this is not the first time when the enemy has been defeated in the Severodonetsk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Kurakhove directions. On May 16, the Russias offensive was also unsuccessful.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been lasting yet for 85 days.
