The Armed Forces of Ukraine may launch a large-scale counteroffensive in the Donbas in a month and a half, as the Ukrainian army has all the necessary resources.

Ruslan Leviev, the founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team investigation team, told Meduza about this in an interview.

According to him, fighting in the Donbas will continue shortly. And if the mobilization of the Russian Federation does not take place, everything will be reduced to positional battles. He added that Russia would attempt assault operations to surround the city gradually.

Watching now

– And in about one and a half to two months, the Ukrainian side will launch a large-scale counteroffensive. The demand for this in society is very strong. Ukrainian generals and Zelensky himself listen to society in this regard. There are resources for this. Martial law has been imposed in Ukraine. New technology is already appearing. In one and a half to two months, we will see a turning point in the situation not in favor of Russia, – said Ruslan Leviev.

According to him, the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces will begin in Donbas, and in the future, the Russian army will try to cut off the supply routes.

According to the CIT founder, military actions have moved to the format of local battles.

– The Russian army is again trying to create an environment in the Donbas. During different periods of this war, Russian troops tried to make different sizes of “ticks”. But I do not know any real case of success, except for Azovstal, which can be called an environment. Every time their plans failed, he said.

According to Ruslan Leviev, the Russian army is now trying to make a breakthrough in Popasnaya to close the ring further.

– Everything is going to delay the process. They do not want to mobilize. Probably that’s why they talk about the law (in Russia, – Ed.), Which allows you to sign a contract, even if you are over 40 years old. But without mobilization, they will not change anything, he said.

It should be added that the Conflict Intelligence Team is a group of independent investigators studying the movement of military equipment during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, the team has been monitoring what is happening at the front and providing daily reports on the progress of the fighting. Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the CIT team actively reported on the transfer of various types of military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces to the Ukrainian borders.
