It will linger: the MDI told how long the war in Ukraine could last

The task of the Russian army is to surround Ukrainian defenders in eastern Ukraine and reach the borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The President of the Russian Federation will not abandon his plans, and active hostilities may be kept until the end of the year. This opinion was notified by the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi.

– Putin does not give up his plans. This war will linger. How much will be lingered the active phase, will it be September or October, or the end of the year. It depends on our resistance, the condition of our defense forces, and the help the world gives us, – he explained.

Vadym Skibitskyi says that many different dates are being cited now. One of them is September 11, when Russia has the only voting day. The possibility of holding a referendum or other events in the occupied territories is tied to this date.

Another date – October 7 – Putin’s birthday. He is 70 years old, and everyone will say that the military men want to make him a gift.

Vadim Skibitskyi also added that since May, the Russian army has been building several lines of defence in the Kherson region, mining bridges, and roads.

According to him, Russia has already used 60% of precision-guided munitions. Stocks are draining, so they got old Soviet ammunition. After destroying the cruiser Moscow and DLS Saratov, Russian ships do not come close to the Ukrainian shores.
