Evil cannot win: Zelenskyy called for helping Ukraine through the United24 platform

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at the presentation of the United24 platform in Washington. He explained what a full-scale war had become for Ukrainians on the example of the story of Svitlana Klymenko, a nurse from the city of Ivankiv.
According to Zelenskyy, this woman lost her husband on February 24. He worked as a paramedic in an emergency and went on call in the area where the Russian occupiers were trying to attack Kyiv. He has since been considered missing.
In addition, Svitlana lost her son, who died in Mariupol. From February 24 to April 1, until Ukrainian troops liberated Ivankiv from the occupiers, she worked at a hospital and helped rescue people. Despite the pain of loss, she did not give up.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that when he met Svitlana recently, she told him that it was this job that helped her hold on. Saving others became the meaning of her life. Today, the woman, like thousands of Ukrainian doctors and nurses, continues to save people.
– We must do everything to support them. So that they have something to treat, where to treat, so that we have armored ambulances that the Russians will not be able to shoot, as they are doing now. The Russian army is very brutal. It is not only trying to kill as many people as possible, but also to destroy all the infrastructure necessary for life, – said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that the ruins are what remains after the Russian military. But people need to have a place to go back to. Already now and today. Therefore, the President initiated the creation of a special platform United24.
– It’s not just fundraising. This is one way to prove to Russia that evil cannot win. Thousands of wounded need help. Thousands of facilities need to be restored, – Zelenskyy explained.
The President stressed that everyone can help in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and assured that the funds will be used as efficiently and transparently as possible.
According to him, thanks to these contributions, the name of everyone will forever remain in the history of Ukraine – the history of protection of freedom and democracy.
