Haidai told about worsening the situation in Severodonetsk: the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding positions in the industrial zone

As of June 6, the situation in Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) has slightly worsened. Ukrainian troops are holding positions in the industrial zone in the city.
The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration (RMA), Serhii Haidai, announced this on the air of the national telethon.
According to him, the situation in the Luhansk region remains stably difficult. And specifically, in Severodonetsk, where the most fierce fighting is occurring now, the situation has slightly worsened after a successful counterattack by Ukrainian defenders.
– The most fierce fighting continues in the city of Severodonetsk. The battles are quite dynamic. Our defenders managed to counterattack for a while, they liberated almost half of the city, but now the situation has worsened for us again. Those positions that were in the industrial zone, which the guys constantly defend, they remain there now, – said Haidai.
According to him, the Russian occupiers significantly increased the number of shellings on Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. Russian troops use their usual “scorched earth” tactics, destroying cities to the ground.
– We feel that there are many more shellings: both in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. They destroy everything completely. It is their standard tactic of scorched earth, – said Haidai.
The head of the RMA stressed that the occupiers had yet destroyed many cities in the region.
– In the Luhansk region, we have more than one such city, similar to Mariupol. We can say that Shchastia is 90% destroyed, and they destroyed this city before Mariupol. Popasna destroyed 80 %, and Rubizhne was destroyed. Now they are destroying Severodonetsk. And at the same time, they are destroying Lysychansk. Their only tactic is to wipe everything off the face of the earth so that there will be no place to hold the positions or what to defend, – Haidai explained.
He clarified that the city of Lysychansk lies at a strategic height, and from there, you can keep the line of defence much longer and more productive. That is why Russian troops have now concentrated most of the shellings on Lysychansk. The invaders are destroying everything – houses, a humanitarian aid centre.
Haidai informed that the day before yesterday, the occupiers intentionally shot at the building where the humanitarian headquarters was located (more than 30 hits were recorded). At this headquarters, people could arrange for evacuation, use communications, and take humanitarian kits, water and medicine.
The days before, it was reported that the Ukrainian military men managed to liberate the part of the Severodonetsk city. As of the evening of June 5, there was information that about 50% of Severodonetsk was under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Street fightings continue in the city, and the Russian army has sent additional forces in this direction.
As of the morning of June 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the occupiers are continuing to storm Severodonetsk.
