The number of children killed by Russia has risen sharply in Ukraine: another 24 children have died in Mariupol
287 Ukrainian children have already died in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. The death toll rose sharply in a day, as it became known that 24 more children had been killed in the temporarily occupied Mariupol.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the death toll from Ukrainian children has risen from 263 to 287.
– During fixing of criminal offenses it became known about death of 24 more children in the city of Mariupol of Donetsk region as a result of indiscriminate attacks by military of the Russian Federation, – it is told in the message.
In addition, the number of injured children has increased. It is known that a 17-year-old girl was injured on April 9 as a result of shelling by the occupiers of Raigorodok, Donetsk region.
In total, as of the morning of June 11, more than 779 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of a full-scale war waged by Russia.
– According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 287 children died and more than 492 were injured, – the department clarified.
Most children were affected in Kyiv (16) and 10 regions of Ukraine: in Donetsk (217), Kharkiv (132), Kyiv (116), Chernihiv (68), Luhansk (53), Kherson (52), Mykolaiv (48), Zaporizhia (30), Sumy (17), Zhytomyr (15).
The agency stressed that the figures are not final, as work is underway to establish the crimes of the Russian Federation in places of active combat, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
In addition, Russian troops damaged 1,971 educational institutions in Ukraine during bombings and shelling (194 of them were completely destroyed).
