AFU gradually liberates the territory of the Kherson region – Zelenskyy
The Ukrainian military is gradually liberating the territory of the Kherson region.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an evening address on June 11.
– Today, the village of Tavriiske has been added to the list of retaken settlements. There are also some successes in the Zaporizhzhia region. Fierce street battles continue in Severodonetsk,” he said.
In addition, he commented on the issuance of Russian passports in the occupied territories of Kherson and Melitopol.
– I looked at whom the Kherson and Melitopol inhabitants were put on the news that allegedly wanted Russian passports. Several collaborators and people from their entourage,” said the President.
According to him, the final stage of a major diplomatic marathon began on June 11 and should be completed in a week and a half.
– We will soon receive an answer about the status of the candidate for Ukraine. I am convinced that this decision can strengthen not only our state but also the entire European Union,” President Zelenskyy said.
He recalled that today he had “very productive” talks with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Kyiv.
– I am glad to note her sincerity. It is the European Commission that will prepare an opinion on our application. Ukraine provided all the necessary answers in a concise period of time, and it was done qualitatively,” he said.
He added that as of June 11, the Russian army already had over 32 thousand dead souls.
