Voices can be heard under the rubble, two victims are already in hospital – Klitschko on the shelling in Kyiv
On the morning of June 26, the Russian military fired a rocket at a nine-story building in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district.

– She is alive. They are now rescuing her mother,” said Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
At the moment the child is in a stable condition, the mayor said in a comment to the reporter of ICTV Facts Olga Chaiko on the air of the national telethon.
Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko noted that the concrete slab of the ceiling trapped the mother of the rescued girl.
– She is alive. She was moaning in pain. Rescuers brought heavy cranes to lift the slab and save her,” Anton Gerashchenko said.
According to him, a man who was rescued from the rubble without signs of life may probably be the father of a seven-year-old girl.
Some residents were evacuated, and two victims were hospitalized in a medical facility.
– Those who are now in hospital are in a satisfactory condition, and they are being treated. Doctors say there is no critical threat,” said Kyiv city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
According to the capital’s mayor, people’s voices can be heard under the debris, and they are alive.
– Rescuers are now trying to get them out,” added Vitali Klitschko.
In order not to provoke their death, rescuers do not want to pour too much water on the fireplace.
There is also a threat of poisoning the tenants of the house because of the significant smoke.
Updated at 08.27. According to the State Emergency Service of the region, 67 rescuers with 19 units of equipment are now extinguishing the fire.
In general, the fire covered an area of 300 square meters.
One Russian missile, which attacked the capital, was shot down by anti-aircraft defense forces in the Kyiv region.
– The missile remains fell in the vicinity of a village in the area. There was no damage or casualties as a result, – said Oleksiy Kuleba, head of the regional military administration.
Updated at 07.12. At 7:00 am, ambulance crews and rescuers arrived in the Shevchenko district, where the explosions were heard.
– Rescue and evacuation of residents are underway in two houses, – said Kyiv city head Vitaliy Klitschko.
It was updated at 06.49. Vitaliy Klitschko confirmed the fact of the explosions in the Shevchenkovsky district of the capital at 06.40.
ICTV Facts sources reported four rockets flying over residential buildings in Kyiv around 06.30.
In the capital and the region, sirens sounded around 05.47.
An air-raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine on the morning of June 26.
People were allowed to leave their shelters at 07:21.
