Shelling of Sloviansk on July 3: the mayor reports on many killed and wounded

In the afternoon of July 3, the Russian occupiers shelled Sloviansk, Donetsk region.

They got out of the car and didn’t even have time to reach the house, the correspondent of Radio Svoboda said and showed a video from the scene of the tragedy.

Updated at 17.15. The head of the Sloviansk city military-civilian administration, Vadym Lyakh, said that one child was among the six dead, and another 15 people were injured.

Among the injured as a result of the shelling is an employee of a utility company.

According to him, several micro-districts of Sloviansk were affected: Artema, Zaliznychny, Pivnichnyy, Mashmet, Myasokbinat.

– Destruction in the housing sector and at communal enterprises – KATP, trolleybus management, filter station, – he specified.

Updated at 3:35 p.m. According to Tetyana Ignatchenko, spokeswoman for the Donetsk Regional Government, 6 people were killed and 15 others were injured as a result of shelling by Russian troops in Sloviansk.

In a comment to Suspilno, she also reported that the enemy had fired three rockets at Kramatorsk, destroying a hotel and damaging a road.

– The largest shelling of Sloviansk in recent times, up to 15 fires, also a large number of wounded and killed, – said the mayor of the city, Vadym Lyakh, in a video message.

– Right now, one of the city markets of Sloviansk is on fire. Rescuers are trying to put out the fire. In advance, we know that there are no victims, – FREEDOM correspondent Olena Gramova later reported the details. – There were several hits. Today we also visited the private sector, where one of the houses burned down. There were no people there, so there were no casualties.

In the morning, the Russians also shelled Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, with Smerch rocket launchers. There were no casualties, but there is serious destruction.

The day before, Russian troops shelled Sloviansk with cluster shells, as a result of which four civilians were killed and seven more people were injured.

The Lymany microdistrict came under fire – a private sector where there are no military facilities.
