In Mariupol, the occupiers and collaborators steal the surviving cars from the townspeople – GUR

Маріуполь

In the temporarily occupied Mariupol (Donetsk region), the Russian occupiers and local collaborators are stealing surviving cars from the residents of the city.

Such data was made public by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to GUR data, the number of thefts of private motor vehicles is growing rapidly.

Thieves steal cars both from open parking lots and playgrounds, as well as from closed garage cooperatives. Both economy-class vehicles (for example, ZAZ or GEELY) and more expensive executive-class cars are disappearing.

Watching now

Russian invaders carry out thefts both during the day and at night (when the city is under a so-called curfew).

– In addition, robbers often use tow trucks. This gives an understanding that the looting is being carried out directly by representatives of the occupation administration and local collaborators connected with it, –  the GUR emphasizes.

According to intelligence information, residents of the city can file a report about the theft of a car to the “military commandant’s office” of Mariupol. However, unofficially, its representatives report that you need to find transport yourself.

Often stolen cars are taken away by militants of the “DNR militia”. In this case, the vehicle is declared “property of the DNR”, and the owner can forget about its return (it becomes simply dangerous).

According to the Mariupol City Council, the occupiers destroyed 480 km of water supply networks in the city, which is more than 50% of the entire fund.

And in the residential quarters of Mariupol, the Russian military equipped warehouses with ammunition. The occupiers are trying to use the people of Mariupol as “human shields” to cover warehouses.
