The occupiers do not abandon their failed attempts to capture the Vugleghirsk thermal power plant – the General Staff
The General Staff reported that the Russian occupiers are not abandoning their failed attempts to seize the Vugleghirsk thermal power plant. Also, the aggressors continue to shell Ukrainian settlements and carry out airstrikes in a number of directions.
This is stated in the message published on July 16.
– The aggressor fired from barrel and jet artillery, tanks and mortars in the areas of Kharkiv, Protopopivka, Prudyanka, Dementiivka, Svitlychne, Mykilske, Cherkassy Tyshki, Stary Saltiv, Rubizhne, Korobochkine, Dolyna, Ivanivka, Barvinkovo settlements, – the statement said.
The occupiers also carried out airstrikes near New York, Berestovo, Soledar, Mospanovo and Bogorodichny, shelled civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Oleksandrivka, Nikiforivka, Donetske, Spirne, Travneve, Pokrovske, Soledar, New York, Codema and others.
– With offensive and assault actions, the enemy tried to improve the tactical situation in the areas of Ivano-Daryivka, Hryhorivka, Novoluhanske, Semigirya settlements and to establish control over the territory of the Vugleghirska thermal power plant. There are no successes – the Ukrainian soldiers forced the enemy to retreat, – the General Staff noted.
Meanwhile, in the Avdiyiv, Novopavliv, and Zaporizhzhya directions, the occupiers shelled the positions of our troops with mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of the settlements of Novobakhmutivka, Novomykhailivka, Volodymyrivka, Kamianske, Vugledar, Nevelske, Vremivka, Biloghirya, Novosilka, and others. Another airstrike was recorded near Avdiivka.
