The Armed Forces of Ukraine took the situation with the Antonivsky bridge in Kherson under fire control. Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko announced this on the air of the telethon.
He clarified that there is no encirclement of enemy troops yet, but there is a threat. In addition, judging by the conversations of the occupiers, their psychological state is depressed.
– The Russians see that they can stay surrounded. This is an operational environment. There is a threat to them. You can look at the map and notice that their troops are in such an enclave on the right bank. We are showing what capabilities we have with fire strikes, in particular on this bridge. And that we are not only working on the bridge, but also on the destruction of a possible pontoon crossing of the enemy, – he explained.
On July 19, an explosion rang out near the strategic Antonivsky bridge in Kherson.
The next day, the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after Black Zaporizhzhya reported that Ukraine has already struck several blows on the Antoniv bridge across the Dnipro on the way out of temporarily occupied Kherson.
Our military explained that the destruction of the bridge will partially block the way for the occupiers to move troops and provide them. They will be cut off from the main forces and will not be able to quickly leave Kherson or transfer additional troops to the city.
