Shelling of Mykolaiv: the president of Nibulon, Oleksiy Vadatursky, was killed along with his wife

Oleksiy Vadatursky, president of the Nibulon agricultural company, died during the shelling of Mykolaiv on 31 July.

The enemy attack also claimed the life of Oleksiy Vadatursky’s wife Raisa.

Updated at 11:50 am. The news of the tragic death of the spouses was confirmed by the head of the regional military administration Vitaliy Kim.

– Mykolaiv is a hero city. Every day we lose our residents, our soldiers. And today, our city has lost its Hero.

At night a Hero of Ukraine, General Director of Nibulon company Oleksiy Afanasievich Vadatursky and his wife Raisa Mikhailovna Vadaturskaya were tragically killed by the shelling of the city – Vitaliy Kim wrote.

The head of the region assures: Oleksiy Vadaturskyy has done much for the Mykolayiv region and Ukraine in general.

– His contribution to the development of the agrarian and shipbuilding industries and the region’s development is invaluable. So much has been done – so much could have been done…

Condolences to Andriy Vadaturskyy, former MP and head of the supervisory board of Nibulon, because of the tragic death of his father and mother were expressed by his colleague Taras Batenko.

The mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoliy Bondarenko, who from 2007 to 2010 was Oleksiy Vadaturskyi’s deputy in the Nibulon company, reacted to the tragic news.

– It is not easy to write. Farewell, mentor, father, patriot, Anatoly Bondarenko – signed the photo with Oleksiy Vadaturskyi.

Anatoly Bondarenko notes: that this is a heavy and painful loss.

– My long-time friend and mentor, general director of the Nibulon company, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyi, and his wife died tonight as a result of massive shelling in Mykolaiv…

He is a person from whom I learned a lot, he was an example for many both in business and life.

The mayor of Cherkasy adds: that Oleksiy Vadaturskyy was a strong and wise leader who managed to make his company a leader in the Ukrainian agricultural market, created thousands of jobs, and was never afraid of new challenges.

– A true patriot. He remained in Mykolayiv until the end, which was under daily shelling. Farewell, my friend. Bright memory. Sincere condolences to all relatives and friends… – wrote Anatoliy Bondarenko.

What is known about Oleksiy Vadaturskyy

Ukrainian agricultural entrepreneur Oleksiy Vadaturskyy would have turned 75 years old on September 8, 2022.

Since 1991, he was the permanent General Director of Nibulon agricultural holding.

In 2007 he was awarded the title of the Hero of Ukraine “for his outstanding personal contribution to strengthening the potential of agro-industrial complex, organization and provision of stable high performance in agricultural production, and development of the social sphere.

In 2012 Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, together with his son Andriy shared 12th place in the list of 20 most successful agrarians of Ukraine from the magazine Focus.

In June 2020, the entrepreneur took 15th place in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians from Forbes Ukraine. Then his capital was estimated at $450 million.

The shelling of Mykolaiv on July 31

On July 31, Mykolaiv was subjected to the most powerful massive shelling since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Explosions, particularly cluster shells, were heard after 1 a.m. and around 5 a.m. Only in the morning, there were about 12 incoming S-300 missiles. Anti-aircraft defense forces shot down two more shells.

Houses, a hotel, a sports complex, two educational institutions, and a service station were destroyed. A two-story building, an annex to a house, two garages, and two outbuildings were on fire.

Full-scale warfare in Ukraine has been going on for 158 days.
