The data is used to target strikes: the Russian Federation has created a program with “quests” for children

The head of the Nikopol district military administration, Yevhen Yevtushenko, asks parents to review the contents of their children’s mobile phones.
He explained that, according to information from relevant sources, the special services of the Russian Federation have developed a program with quest tasks, which involves photographing objects and areas of the area that are of interest to the occupiers.
Photos with geolocation data are sent to software developers in exchange for a monetary reward. The information collected in this way is used by the Russians to launch rocket-bomb attacks on infrastructure facilities.
According to Yevhen Yevtushenko, adults and teenagers living in Ukraine are used to collect information. Therefore, the head of the Nikopol DMA asks parents who find such a program on their children’s phones to delete it and explain why it cannot be sent to anyone.
If hostile software is found on the phone of adult citizens, they will be subject to sanctions provided for by the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Yevhen Yevtushenko also reminded that citizens of Nikopol can send him information about suspicious persons in private messages on the Facebook page.
