If you have the citizenship of the Russian Federation and you are silent, it means that you are not fighting – Zelenskyy
The stronger Ukraine will be, the weaker Russia will be and the sooner this war will end.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the evening address on August 14.
He announced that many events are expected during the next weeks of the second half of August, including the Crimean platform, new appeals to foreign communities and international legal activity at the initiative of Ukraine.
– Tomorrow there will be important contacts at the European level, – the president said.
The president added that Ukraine is working on new sanctions against Russia in order to “stimulate” citizens of the Russian Federation to feel their responsibility for the unleashed war against Ukraine.
– The discussion about visa restrictions in Europe for holders of Russian passports is expanding daily. New states and new politicians are joining it. Ultimately, this should lead to appropriate decisions, – Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He thanked Ukrainian intelligence officers, law enforcement officers, journalists and everyone who works to establish complete information about Russian killers.
– Ukraine and our partners are receiving more and more information about those directly responsible for terror and torture, for the so-called filtering and deportation of our people, for looting. All these inhumans will definitely answer, – the president said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainians should remember that in the face of evil of such magnitude, silence is complicity, and refusal to fight against evil becomes help to it.
– Therefore, if you have Russian citizenship and you are silent, it means that you are not fighting, which means that you are supporting it. And no matter where you are – both on the territory of Russia and abroad – your voice should sound in support of Ukraine, and therefore against this war, – he said.
The President added that in the near future the Verkhovna Rada will have to make a decision on the extension of martial law and general mobilization.
– Ukraine has always longed and longs for peace and many times in various negotiating formats offered the Russian leadership to end the war and free Ukrainian land from occupation. But for now, Russia believes in terror, is in the grip of its propaganda illusions and still hopes that it can supposedly achieve something through various forms of blackmail,- he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyу emphasized that under such conditions, Ukraine needs to defend itself and respond to every manifestation of terror and to all shelling, which does not stop for a single day.
– Unfortunately, we have losses. But we must fight at all levels and on all fronts, strengthen our state as much as possible, preserve our unity and attract even more countries to our anti-war coalition, – the president said.
He added that the stronger Ukraine will be, the weaker Russia will be, so this war will last less time.
– Everyone in Ukraine, everyone in the free world should do everything in their power and everything possible so that Russia and those who support the war pay an ever-increasing price for Russian state terror, – said the president.
He concluded his address by saying that every new day should bring a new result for Ukraine.
