During the week Russia may prepare something especially disgusting and cruel – Zelenskyy
Next week, Russia may be preparing especially violent or nasty provocations.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during an evening address on August 20.
– We are actively preparing for a new week, a very important week for all of us, for our state. Ahead are our flag day and our Independence day. Ahead is the honoring of veterans of the war for Ukraine’s freedom and the Crimean Platform – really special this year. This year you can feel in the air of Crimea that the occupation there is temporary, and Ukraine will return,” said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the Ukrainian legends, which are and will be a tradition of Ukraine, will be celebrated.
The President added that important foreign policy negotiations and visits of “real friends of Ukraine” are planned for next week.
– Ahead is a landmark milestone, six months of this full-scale invasion, which has changed all of the war… During these 178 days since February 24, Ukrainians have proved that they are our people, our defenders, and defenders insuperable. And I thank all who have shown their strength during this time, I thank all who fought and are fighting for Ukraine, I thank all who fight and help our soldiers, our state,” he thanked.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Ukraine’s unity and faith in itself made it possible to get through these six months and approach this week, which is “invariably important for every Ukrainian.
– We always say honestly: for the victory of Ukraine, there is still a lot to fight for, there is still a lot to do, there is still a lot to endure and endure, unfortunately, much pain. But Ukrainians can already feel proud of themselves, their state, and their heroes, – said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that all Ukrainians should feel what strength there is in the people of Ukraine and the beautiful Ukrainian people.
– We must realize that this week Russia may try to do something especially vile, something especially cruel. Such is our enemy. But in any other week during these six months, Russia has done the same thing all the time – nasty and cruel,” said the President.
The Ukrainian President stressed that everyone must be strong enough to resist hostile provocations.
– as much as it takes to make the occupants answer for all their blows and terror – for Kharkiv and Donbas, Azovstal and Mykolaiv, filtration camps, Bucha, Irpen for all cities… We must all be strong enough to stand and go all the way to the Ukrainian victory, – stressed Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the end of the address, the President urged us to stick together and help each other to rebuild what has been destroyed and fight for the Ukrainian people.
