Since the full-scale war, on February 24, 2022, Russia has launched 750 cruise missiles at Ukrainian targets from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the second summit of the Crimean Platform.
– The Russian Federation turned Crimea, which is really a paradise for all of us, into a depressed and dependent region. To the region of high fences, barbed wire and lawlessness, to the zone of ecological disaster, to the military bridgehead for aggression and the spread of grief. Since the February 24, 750 different cruise missiles have been launched from the occupied Crimea over our cities and communities,- the president emphasized.
He added that these missiles destroyed at least hundreds of civilian objects – houses, hospitals, schools and universities. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s restoration of control over Crimea will be a “historic anti-war step in Europe”, will restore security, and reintegrate the peninsula into the modern world.
– For Ukraine, Crimea is not just some territory, not a chip in the geopolitical game, as it is for a terrorist state. For Ukraine, Crimea is a part of our people, our society, – the president added.
He specified that Crimea will become part of the European Union after de-occupation.
