Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba believes that it is worth creating a special program for Russian soldiers who refuse to fight in Ukraine. The diplomat noted that if one Russian soldier lays down his arms, it will save the lives of Ukrainians.

– Message: save yourself and run. Lay down your arms, surrender to Ukrainian forces and get a chance to start a new life. I am sure that this proposal is worthy of consideration, because even if one Russian soldier lays down his arms and decides to leave, it means saved Ukrainian lives and a rapprochement of peace, – Kuleba says.

He also again called on the EU to introduce visa restrictions for Russians. According to him, this measure is necessary because the majority of citizens of the Russian Federation supported the “genocidal war of aggression” against Ukraine.

– The time for half measures has passed. Only a tough and consistent policy can bring results. The visa ban for Russian tourists and some other categories will be a response to Russia’s genocidal war of aggression in the heart of Europe, which is supported by the vast majority of Russian citizens, – the diplomat concluded.
