More ATACMS, drones and tanks. The Senate urged Biden to increase supplies of equipment to Ukraine
The leader of the Republican minority in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell, said that Ukraine needs more weapons and called on the administration of the US president to increase supplies.
-The Ukrainians need more of the weapons we’re giving them, they need to start getting it faster, and they need new capabilities like longer-range ATACMS, larger drones, and tanks,- McConnell says.
He added that the successes of the Ukrainian army inspire the entire free world, but it is still too early to celebrate the victory.
– Iran supplies the Russian military with combat drones similar to those they and their proxies have used against US forces in Syria and Iraq, as well as against our Israeli, Emirati and Saudi partners. It is reported that North Korea is replenishing Russia’s artillery stockpile. And the People’s Republic of China publicly supported Moscow’s narrative regarding every Russian crime, – the senator said.
McConnell noted that many people had died because of the delay in supplying weapons.
– Ukrainian troops work wonders with Western equipment. They quickly integrated advanced systems such as HIMARS and the Javelin and Stinger missiles. Western hesitancy to transfer these weapons into the right hands has cost lives. The horrors could have been avoided if the Biden administration and our European partners had provided these tools earlier, – says McConnell.
