Zaluzhnyі spoke about the two main goals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the war with the Russian Federation

At the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the strategic goals of the General Staff of the Armed Forces were to prevent the capture of Kyiv, as well as to inflict maximum losses on the enemy by stretching his supply lines.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhnyi, in an interview with TIME.
– We could not allow Kyiv to fall. And in all other directions we had to shed their blood, even if in some places it required the loss of territory, – said the general.
The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces also noted that he was surprised by the mistakes of the Russian command at the beginning of the war, in particular, when the enemy faced strong resistance or lost the ability to replenish supplies, he did not retreat or change his approach.
– They simply drove their soldiers to slaughter. They chose the scenario that suited me the most, – says Zaluzhnyі.
By the way, Time dedicated the cover of the new issue and an article to Zaluzhnyі.
