Ukrainian Armed Forces enter Lyman, there is fighting in the city – Eastern Group of Forces
The spokesman for the Eastern grouping of the AFU, Sergey Cherevatyy, confirmed that the AFU is already in the Lyman.
– We are already in Lyman, but battles are going on, details will come later, – he told Yedyny Novyny.
In addition, Cherevatyy noted that the occupiers asked for help en masse, but “probably everyone was watching the concert on Red Square”.
In addition, the liberation of Lyman is of strategic importance and means the continuation of the successful Kharkiv operation. It also opens up a corridor for the liberation of Donbas – to Svatove, Kremenna, and Severodonetsk.
– Well, a critical psychological moment – the encirclement of a large grouping of the enemy, which before this boasted of its invincibility. This is an important moment for our AFU, which is feeling more and more its strength and power. This is a ruthless psychological moment for the enemy. By the way, it was not the last troops that fought there, it was a professional military. The so-called BARS, a combat army reserve, fought there, – Cherevatyy noted.
He said that there were up to 5.5 thousand pieces of Russian equipment before the operation.
Stabilization measures are now being carried out in the five de-occupied settlements near Lyman, searching for the enemy, ammunition remnants, and people who need help.
Also, Cherevatyy added that in these settlements was fierce fighting, so there was serious destruction.
