The US provides a new package of military aid to Ukraine: the Pentagon revealed the details
US President Joe Biden, during a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyу, announced the provision of a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $625 million.
This is stated in the message of the administration of the President of the United States.
– Biden pledged to continue to support Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russian aggression, as long as necessary, including by providing a new $625 million security assistance package today, which includes additional weapons and equipment, including HIMARS, artillery systems and ammunition, and armored cars, – the White House reported.
In particular, the American leader confirmed his readiness to further impose sanctions on any individual and legal entity and country that will support Russian annexation.
The specified military aid of the United States became the first after Russia announced the annexation of the territory of four regions of Ukraine.
Subsequently, the Pentagon revealed the details of a new package of military support worth $625 million.
This package includes:
- Four highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) and corresponding ammunition;
- 16 155-mm howitzers;
- 75 thousand 155-mm artillery shells;
- 500 high-precision 155-mm artillery shells;
- 1,000 155-mm rounds for remote anti-tank mine (RAAM) systems;
- 16 105-mm howitzers;
- 30 thousand 120-mm mortar mines;
- 200 mine-resistant MaxxPro ambush-protected vehicles;
- 200,000 ammunition for small arms;
- equipment for installing barriers;
- Claymore anti-personnel ammunition.
In total, since January 2021, Washington has provided Ukraine with more than $17.5 billion in security assistance.
