The explosion will seriously reduce the carrying capacity of the Crimean bridge – British intelligence

Russia was able to resume the transit of certain vehicles on the two surviving lanes of the Crimean Bridge after the October 8 explosion.
Such an assumption was made in the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on October 9.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense is certain that yesterday’s explosion will seriously reduce the capacity of the bridge connecting the Russian-occupied Crimea with the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation.
As of now, it is known that the other two lanes failed in several places at once.
The length of the destroyed parts of the road is about 250 m.
The extent of the damage to the level crossing is unknown, but any serious disruption to its capacity is likely to have a significant impact on Russia’s already strained ability to maintain its forces in southern Ukraine, the British Ministry of Defense noted.
British intelligence officers recall that the railway crossing, which was opened for freight traffic only in June 2020, played a key role in the movement of heavy military equipment to the southern front during the invasion of Ukraine.
This incident, according to British intelligence, is likely to have a strong impact on the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, who was celebrating his 70th birthday just a few hours before the explosion.
– Putin personally sponsored and opened the bridge, and the construction contractor was Arkady Rotenberg, a childhood friend of the President of the Russian Federation, – the Ministry of Defense emphasizes.
In addition, the fact that the bridge is safe has been publicly emphasized in recent months by Viktor Zolotov, a former bodyguard of Putin and now the commander of the Russian National Guard.
