Russia seeks to integrate the Severskiy Donets River into the “Wagner Line” – British intelligence

Russia is making significant efforts to prepare a deep defense of the current front line to likely deter any rapid counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This is how the British Defense Intelligence Service responded to the “Wagner Line” in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, the construction of which the owner of Wagner’s private military company, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, announced on October 19.

British intelligence suggests that if the plans are as large-scale as Prigozhin claims, the work is presumably aimed at integrating the Severskiy Donets River into the defense zone.

Satellite images from the company Maxar Technologies show that the occupiers’ fortifications consist of four rows of cement pyramids. According to the Russians, they should stop the AFU vehicles and tanks as they advance to the East.

Behind the anti-tank fortifications is a large ditch.

Work continues southeast of Kreminna.

The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Gaidai, is convinced that the occupiers will not have time to build the “Wagner Line” because they have only completed about two kilometers.

In addition, Serhii Gaidai adds, such a line of defense could be an obstacle in 1939, but certainly not at the end of 2022, when “technology and capabilities have advanced much further than the imagination of Russian commanders.”
