Already in November, the aggressor country Russia may use short-range Iranian ballistic missiles against Ukraine. These are Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar SRBM missiles.
This was stated in an interview with The War Zone by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Kyrylo Budanov.
– I believe that, probably, next month we will see that they will be used here (in Ukraine, – Ed.), – noted Budanov.
According to him, this is a serious threat to Ukraine, as Iranian missiles, unlike Russian ones, are more accurate.
– This is a serious threat, because Iranian missiles, unlike Russian ones, have quite high accuracy and very high speed. And these characteristics have been tested in battles, – explained the head of intelligence.
Budanov added that in this situation, Ukraine can only count on the brilliant work of its air defense forces and the help of international allies, who have promised to provide more air defense systems to protect against missile terror of the Russian Federation.
It is worth noting that Zolfaghar is an Iranian mobile single-stage solid-fuel ballistic missile capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300-700 km.
Fateh-110 is an Iranian mobile single-stage surface-to-surface missile. The fourth generation of these missiles has a range of up to 400 km and improved guidance systems.
As you know, in recent weeks, Russia has been regularly using Iranian kamikaze drones to strike Ukraine, particularly energy facilities. We are talking about Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 drones. Ukrainian air defense systems shoot down about 79% of these drones.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, Iran may also transfer new Arash-2 drones and ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation.
Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine have already established the names of all those involved in supplying the Russian Federation with both Iranian drones and Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar ballistic missiles.
