Ukraine can begin the liberation of the Russian-occupied Crimea as early as next year.

Such a forecast was announced by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov. When asked when Ukraine can launch an offensive and how long it will take to retake Crimea, he answered:

– This will happen only by military force next year. Ukraine has the right to inflict a military defeat on the attacker. We strive for victory over the enemy. At the final stage, this victory is possible only when we reach the borders of 1991, – explained the head of the GUR.

At the same time, Kyrylo Budanov refused to name the specific period of the offensive to liberate the peninsula.

For his part, the ex-commander of the US Ground Forces in Europe, Ben Godges, previously stated that, in his opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will liberate Crimea by the summer of 2023.

However, this will happen on the condition that the US will support Ukraine as before, and all sanctions against Russia will remain as they are.

Godges also predicts that Ukrainian troops will push back the Russian invaders to the February 23 line within two months.
