Is Russia ready to attack again from the territory of Belarus: DIU forecast
In Belarus, there are currently no signs of the creation of a powerful strike group, which may be a marker of a possible repeated Russian offensive from its territory.
This was stated by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi during a telethon.
– There are about 9 thousand servicemen of the Russian Federation. This is the first tank army that has conducted combat training, combat coordination of units is being conducted, – the intelligence officer emphasized.
According to his forecasts, there are two possible options for the use of this tank division – either from the territory of Belarus or rotationally returning to the territory of Ukraine to Kharkiv or other directions.
– If we talk about the prospect of a repeated offensive, such a threat remains due to the fact that there are plans to use a group of troops of the Union State of Belarus-Russia. The only problem is that today there are not enough weapons that have been transported to the territory of Belarus, – said Skibitsky.
The intelligence representative said that combat training is expected to intensify in Belarus, as a new academic year begins in the Belarusian Armed Forces on December 1.
– The troops will go to the training grounds to practice combat coordination. Therefore, we expect that there will be active measures of operational and combat training. But we are monitoring everything, – the intelligence officer assured.
Regarding the markers that will indicate a possible invasion from Belarus, Skibitskyi stressed that there are many of them.
– We have methods by which we determine the readiness of a group of troops. One of such markers or indicators is the full deployment of a wartime command and control system. But today there are no signs of the creation of a powerful strike group on the territory of Belarus, – summed up the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
