The Armed Forces of Ukraine named Russia’s priority in the war with Ukraine
Russia’s priority remains to hold positions in eastern Ukraine, as well as the land corridor to Crimea.
This was stated at a briefing by Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov.
– “The priority of the Russian Federation remains holding positions in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the land corridor to the occupied territory of Crimea,” he said.
According to him, the enemy continues to conduct full-scale armed aggression on the territory of Ukraine and prepares new forces to replenish its army.
– Training of mobilized personnel continues on the basis of military units, higher military educational institutions, training centers, formations of the aggressor country. The enemy continues to move personnel, weapons and military equipment to the combat areas to man new units, as well as for those units that have suffered losses. It replenishes stocks of ammunition and fuel and lubricants, – Hromov said.
According to him, during the week the Russian military transport aviation performed the tasks of moving personnel, weapons, military equipment, stocks of material and technical means.
At the same time, the enemy has not abandoned the idea of attacking civilian infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine.
– The threat of missile attacks on critical infrastructure and military facilities by the enemy in the near future remains,” Hromov stressed.
He also informed about possible provocations of Russia on the border in the near future.
Hromov added that the enemy continues to keep a group of troops in the border areas of Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation “to conduct demonstration actions”.
– “We expect that the enemy will continue to maintain a military presence in the border areas in order to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening areas in the areas of active hostilities; the enemy will continue artillery and rocket attacks on settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, it is possible that it will carry out armed provocations in violation of the state border,” he added.
