Arestovych believes that it will be easier to liberate the Zaporizhzhia region than the Kherson region
It will be easier to liberate Zaporizhzhia region than Kherson region, where Ukrainian defenders shed a lot of blood. This opinion was expressed by the advisor of the Office of the President Oleksiy Arestovych.
According to him, we will definitely enter the Zaporizhzhia region – Melitopol, Berdyansk, Energodar.
– The Russians are now building a defense, shifting the direction of Zaporozhzhia. Because their main fear is an attack on Crimea. It destroys the entire southern front. The Armed Forces, the Defense Forces go directly to the border of Crimea – for them it is a complete disaster, – said the adviser.
At the same time, he recognized that Melitopol is the most strategically important point of connection and “the center of gravity of the entire South.”
– There is an airfield there, they are concentrating their biggest forces there. Because in Zaporizhzhia, unlike Kherson region, it is impossible to defend in the field, it is flat. There were irrigation canals in the Kherson region, each of which was an anti-tank ditch. It is impossible to accumulate and force, – said Arestovych.
According to him, Ukrainian defenders shed a lot of blood in the Kherson region – both their own and others’, it was very difficult there. In order to liberate part of the region, it was necessary to consistently grind bridges, logistics, hit warehouses, headquarters, and armored vehicles, which helped to weaken the Russian group so much that they realized that holding this part of the front was hopeless.
– And in the Zaporizhzhia region, you can build engineering districts, strongholds, and even if they are perfectly secured, they will simply be bypassed on the flanks and there will be nowhere to maintain defense, – the adviser summarized.
