Russia does not care about the conventions on the Laws of War: Reznikov commented on Kherson shelling
By constantly shelling Ukrainian settlements, Russian occupiers violate the requirements of the Convention on the Laws and Customs of War daily.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov wrote about this in his Twitter account, commenting on today’s shelling of Kherson.
He added the hashtag #tribunal4russia (tribunal for Russia) to the post.
– Russians shell Ukrainian residential buildings every day. The Convention on the Laws and Customs of War on Land prohibits the attack or bombardment of unprotected cities, villages, houses, or buildings. But the occupiers do not care, – the Minister stressed.

He added that today’s brutal shelling of Kherson is the revenge of the racists for the position of the city’s residents.
– The barbaric shelling of Kherson by Russian terrorists is not only another war crime but also revenge on its residents who resisted the occupation and proved to the whole world that Kherson is Ukraine, – Reznikov said.
The Minister clarified that Ukraine could prevent such tragedies if it had more means of counter-battery warfare, artillery, and long-range ammunition. These weapons will allow punishing Russian terrorists and expelling them from the territory of our state.

The Convention respecting the Laws and Customs of the War on Land was adopted in 1907 in The Hague. This document prohibits “by any means to attack or bombard unprotected cities, towns, dwellings or buildings”.
As you know, Russian troops struck the center of Kherson this morning. On weekends there are usually many people there. The enemy used Grad multiple rocket launcher systems. The attack killed at least seven people and wounded 58 others.
